Completely surrounded and immersed in marvellous Mediterranean gardens on a hillside that provides magnificent views of the gulf and of Mount Athos, the Eagles Village hotel complex is located near the picturesque village of Ouranoupolis.

The 40 villas were designed by the 3SK Stylianidis Architects studio of Athens, while French architect and decorator Fabienne Spahn was in charge of the interior design of the private spaces and common areas.

Ranging from 65 to 140 square meters, equipped with kitchenette and heated private pool, all of the Eagles’ villas convey an understated elegance, with a palette of soft colours and muted shades.

The common areas are more articulated, from the lobby to the bars and restaurants, where the compositional choice juggles two elements typical of the architectural lexicon: matter and lightness. The space is characterised by the presence of different material textures and by the interaction of structural elements, furniture, vivid shapes, and graphically elaborate decorative scenery.

The colours of the village also provided great inspiration, from bright summer shades, present in the patterns of the fabrics, to those that draw on the white of the traditional architecture, here represented by Ceramiche Refin’s Fossil Brown collection, used for the floors of the lobby, lounge area, cocktail bar, and five restaurants. Designed by Kasia Zareba for DTStudio, Ceramiche Refin’s creative research laboratory, the Fossil collection features a hand-drawn pattern which casually combines five different subjects in a densely fragmented surface that creates optical illusions of empty space.

The sequence of scratches stops and overlaps exactly like the markings of time observed during excavations of prehistoric and archaeological sites.
