Heimtextil celebrates design excellence ahead of Dubai Design Week

Heimtextil announced its Frankfurt edition (Jan 13-16, 2026) to the Dubai Design Week audience, celebrating design and innovation

Heimtextil, the world’s leading trade fair for home and contract textiles, hosted an exclusive VIP lunch in Dubai to celebrate creativity and innovation in design, setting the tone for the upcoming Dubai Design Week. The intimate gathering, held in collaboration with Messe Frankfurt, brought together regional design leaders, architects, and creative professionals for a preview of what’s to come at Heimtextil 2026, to be held in Frankfurt from January 13–16, 2026.

The event spotlighted Heimtextil’s continued mission to serve as a strategic platform for design excellence, connecting global craftsmanship with forward-thinking technology. Guests were introduced to the fair’s upcoming theme, “Lead the Change”, which reflects the textile industry’s evolution amid digital transformation and sustainability challenges. The discussion highlighted how Heimtextil remains a reliable constant for the global design and textile sectors, offering inspiration, guidance, and collaboration in an increasingly complex market.

A key focus of the event was Heimtextil’s collaboration with world-renowned designer Patricia Urquiola and Alcova Milano, both of whom will unveil installations at the 2026 edition. Urquiola’s immersive installation, “among-us”, will explore the emotional and sensory power of textiles, merging aesthetics, comfort, and AI-driven spatial design. Alcova’s contribution to the Heimtextil Trends 26/27, under the theme “Craft is a Verb,” will showcase how artificial intelligence and craftsmanship merge to form a new design language that bridges handcraft and high-tech innovation.

Through these collaborations, Heimtextil continues to push the boundaries of textile design, demonstrating how the intersection of AI, sustainability, and traditional craft can inspire new creative models and business opportunities. The Dubai lunch served as a symbolic bridge between two global design hubs, Frankfurt and Dubai, underlining Heimtextil’s commitment to fostering international dialogue and cultural exchange. As Messe Frankfurt’s flagship textile event, Heimtextil not only sets global trends but also amplifies the role of design as a transformative force for both industry and society.
