It looks like a spaceship from another planet, and its name, Seawolf X, hints at its profound connection to the sea. What isn’t immediately apparent is the sheer innovation it carries within. The M/Y Seawolf X is a hybrid-electric motor catamaran, a true representation of Rossinavi‘s BluE sustainable vision. For years, the Tuscan shipyard has dedicated resources to developing hybrid-electric yachts, capable of 100% electric navigation (or 80% for transatlantic voyages).
The inspiration for this approach comes from phytoplankton, which stores sunlight to produce energy and bioluminescence. Similarly, Rossinavi’s BluE yachts absorb solar energy throughout the day, converting it into power using photovoltaic technology. When moored, Seawolf X minimizes energy consumption, even returning surplus power generated by its systems back to the dock – it can, in fact, supply an entire villa with electricity.
Two onboard diesel generators quickly recharge the batteries in just a few hours, ensuring ample power reserves. But there’s more. Seawolf X operates with Rossinavi AI, a proprietary artificial intelligence system developed by the shipyard. This system constantly monitors and analyzes the yacht’s operations, anticipating guests’ needs onboard. The AI then interacts with the crew, suggesting behaviors for more conscious and efficient navigation. The design is equally innovative: Seawolf X boasts a sleek, low-profile silhouette reminiscent of a sports car. The project is the work of Fulvio De Simoni, a renowned yacht designer known for infusing innovation, often drawing inspiration from automotive design. Three distinct outdoor living areas are featured: a generous 130-square-meter sundeck (with an impressive 202 integrated solar panels!), a striking forward area with a hidden pool and convertible home theater, and an aft cockpit with a beach club. This beach club connects seamlessly with the onboard zones, creating a sea-level oasis for relaxation, complete with a pool and sauna.
Inside, an expansive 80-square-meter living area welcomes guests, offering a versatile space divided into convivial and dining zones. The owner’s cabin spans 70 square meters: a luxurious main-deck sanctuary, illuminated by a large skylight and featuring a walk-in closet and private gym. Private access leads to an outdoor area that can serve as an exclusive terrace or a covered mooring zone, complete with a separate crew path.
The refined, timeless interiors exude a residential atmosphere with a distinct Scandinavian influence. They feature a neutral, calm palette, embodying discreet luxury and reflecting the client’s vision and commitment to sustainability.
American multidisciplinary studio Meyer Davis, responsible for the interior design, utilized brushed wood panels, woven raffia wall coverings, and recycled wool carpets to create an eco-friendly luxury space, perfectly aligned with the owner’s aesthetic sensibility. These choices also successfully combine comfort, luxury, and functionality.
