XTONE, the Porcelanosa Grupo brand specialising in large-format ceramic surfaces, has launched the first edition of the XTONE Awards inside the Library spaces of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. More than just an exhibition venue, the location was transformed into a narrative device, showing how ceramic material can evolve into architecture, furniture, and a true material landscape. The aim of the award is clear: to highlight designers who use materiality to shape new grammars of contemporary design. XTONE’s large-format slabs – known for their exceptional versatility, from residential kitchens to contract spaces – become the central feature of a cross-disciplinary exploration where aesthetics, technical performance, and sustainability meet.
Five categories were awarded, each represented by a project capable of revealing a distinct potential of the material.
Best XTONE Kitchen – Studio Decodan

The winning kitchen uses the large format as a continuous surface, emphasising clean volumes and the material’s durability. Honourable mentions to Cocinel.la, Mármoles Margonmi, and Planell SA; second place to Studio Sara Torrijos.
High-End Kitchen – Marina Cocinas
Best Altissima Kitchen – Marina Cocinas
Defined by sculptural details and meticulous craftsmanship, Marina Cocinas’ proposal shows how natural stone can become a defining element within the domestic environment. Vonna was a finalist, with a special mention to Espais Anna Marsal.
Best Exhibition – Argo DC SL
The exhibition concept explores the interplay between ceramic surfaces and spatial storytelling, demonstrating how the material can serve as an expressive element within the space. Studios Mia Málaga SRL is the finalist, with mentions for Rafael Rael Díaz and Studio Cocochic SL.
Design d’Arredo – Summumstudio
Furniture Design – Summumstudio
The winning project reimagines ceramics as a material for contemporary furniture, moving far beyond the idea of simple cladding. Noviembre Estudio is the finalist, with a mention for LUV Studio.
Singular Project – Antonio Rabadán Arquitectura

The awarded work uses ceramic slabs as both structural and decorative components, opening new avenues for application. Second place goes to Same Architects – IAM Interiores, with mentions for Studio Cocochic SL and Summumstudio.
Through these perspectives, the XTONE Awards map out an updated landscape of large-format potential, showing how ceramics can become not only a surface but a genuine design language. A recognition that underscores Porcelanosa’s growing role in narrating the evolution of material and its capacity to generate new forms of design.
