In the form of a lookbook dedicated exclusively to the world of luxury boats, Yachting Tales offers a selection of the most evocative and recognisable pieces from the Cassina collection, ideal for furnishing the different areas of yachts, from living and dining areas to fly decks, solariums and owners’ cabins, combining contemporary creations and design icons in line with “The Cassina Perspective” philosophy that defines the company’s approach.

In terms of design, colour palette and finishes, many of the Cassina collections lend themselves to enriching the most exclusive boats, creating settings that accentuate the direct relationship with the natural landscape. The protagonists of the living room are, for example, Antonio Citterio‘s Esosoft collection, with its minimalist, architectural structure, and Patricia Urquiola‘s Sengu Bold sofa, which combines maximum softness with compact volumes. Next to it, Gerrit T. Rietveld‘s iconic Utrecht armchair echoes the concept of the sofa, thus renewing the dialogue between past and present. The dining area is enriched with charm by the Boboli Table, a harmony of geometries designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, complemented by Patricia Urquiola‘s Dudet armchairs, which are equally sinuous and slender. The outdoor area becomes a realm of lightness and freedom: values interpreted by Rodolfo Dordoni‘s Sail Out sofa, which opens up an infinite perspective towards the horizon.
This oasis of relaxation is combined with pieces from the Cassina iMaestri Collection, such as the Table à plateau interchangeable – outdoor and the Doron Hotel Outdoor armchair, both designed by Charlotte Perriand. Cassina and the nautical world are linked not only by style but also by design. The materials used to create the collections are developed with a more sustainable approach and the use of circular materials, such as recycled polyester used in the upholstery, thus helping to reduce environmental impact and enhance the natural setting.
Equally strong is the affinity with the naval sector, which the company has been exploring since the 1950s, when Cassina was already furnishing large ocean liners, showcasing Italian style abroad. The Andrea Doria, the Raffaello, the Conte Biancamano, the Conte Grande, the Giulio Cesare, the Michelangelo and the entire Costa Armatori fleet are just some of the 58 ships for which Cassina designed the interiors between the 1950s and 1960s, working in collaboration with renowned architects such as Gustavo Pulitzer, Nino Zoncada and Gio Ponti.
