The table is reclaiming its central role within the home, whether in open-plan layouts or separate dining rooms, embracing generous dimensions and multifunctionality. In contrast to the informal solutions that revolve around the kitchen island, the dining table offers a defined, elegant and versatile setting where the rituals of domestic life unfold: shared meals, the art of table setting, but also studying, working and socialising. It is precisely this expanded role that is driving the demand for increasingly generous surfaces.
This trend comes to life in the new Living Extralarge table by Riflessi: a sculptural presence designed to become the focal point of any living space. Developed by Riflessi’s design team, Living Extralarge brings the aesthetics and design language of the company’s iconic Living table collection – one of its best sellers – to a larger scale. The distinctive hallmark of the collection is its artistic base: two solid volumes, inclined and asymmetrically overlapped. The result is an intriguing play of perspectives, enhanced by a rich range of painted metallic finishes. Resting on this architectural structure is a bevelled ceramic top laminated onto ultra-thin glass (12–15 mm thick), available in a wide variety of configurations – rectangular or barrel-shaped, fixed or extendable.
Living Extralarge expands upon this highly decorative design concept. Originally developed for a bespoke custom-made project, the new XL format extends the ceramic top to an impressive six metres in length, transforming the table into a true island of style. Thanks to a concealed technical support integrated beneath the tabletop, two ceramic slabs can be joined in a book-matched configuration, ensuring perfect continuity of the veining and a harmonious aesthetic result despite the table’s exceptional dimensions.
With this solution, Riflessi responds to contemporary living needs – kitchens and living areas conceived as fluid, scenic and highly social spaces – while also addressing the specific demands of the contract, hospitality and high-end residential sectors, where beauty, functionality and performance must coexist seamlessly. Designed for large spaces and prestigious locations, Living Extralarge embodies the company’s technological and aesthetic research, where innovation and artisanal craftsmanship advance hand in hand. Further extending its design potential, Living Extralarge is also available with an invisible induction cooktop featuring four cooking zones integrated directly into the tabletop, reinforcing its identity as the ultimate hub of conviviality. This freestanding plug-and-play version results from the collaboration between Riflessi, The Top Marazzi and InvisaCook. The ceramic slabs, compatible with the invisible induction system, guarantee high levels of resistance and safety, while the controls are discreetly concealed within a practical retractable drawer, preserving the purity of the design. In this configuration, Living Extralarge took centre stage during several Michelin-starred showcooking events at Milan Design Week and has already been selected by prestigious hospitality destinations, including the restaurant “Alessandro Borghese – Il Lusso della Semplicità” in Venice.
